The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Grand Rapids, MN, is seeking a dynamic individual to join the team as a General Maintenance Worker. This position is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the Grand Rapids Regional Headquarters Complex so that the buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe, clean and presentable manner.

Key Responsibilities include:

Cleaning of headquarters buildings including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and emptying trash.

Upkeep of the grounds including mowing, trimming, weeding and removing snow.

Routine maintenance and repair activities on headquarter buildings.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires the incumbent to obtain a Special Engineer Boiler license within 60 days from the day of hire.

Only applicants whose application/resume clearly demonstrates each of the following minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.

Knowledge of general care and cleaning buildings sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials and equipment.

Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents sufficient to select the appropriate agent(s), safely handle and apply and dispose of safely.

Experience operating a lawn mower, snow blower, and small power tools sufficient to perform buildings and grounds work.

Experience in methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to operate safely and make minor repairs.

Ability to keep records and perform math calculations sufficient to order supplies and complete inventories.

Customer service skills sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

Current possession of a valid Minnesota boiler license.

Additional Requirements

This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.
