Actalent Scientific is looking for a Lab Assistant for a leading Diagnostics company, based in Agoura Hills. This is a fulltime, long-term position with opportunity for growth. Entry level position- great way to gain lab experience. Pay will range from $19-21/hr based on shift.

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play an essential role in clinical lab science within a high-volume, production-based environment. This position is pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate specimen processing, contributing directly to patient care.

Responsibilities

Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.

Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.

Perform data entry of specimen and patient information.

Ensure lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance.

Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.

Replenish test bench supplies as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Complete record logs and other administrative duties.

Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Comfortable handling biological specimens.

Ability to accurately identify specimens.

Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.

Attention to detail with prioritization and multitasking abilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.

Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred.

Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations.

Experience with specimen processing, accessioning, and sample handling.

Knowledge of quality assurance documentation and compliance standards (CLIA, CAP).

Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

Lab Assistants work in a structured, fast-paced clinical laboratory setting. This role requires standing for extended periods and handling biological specimens while following strict safety protocols. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
