While the full salary range for the Administrative Technician - Records position is $23.11 - $34.68 hourly / $48,068.80 - $72,134.40 annually, the anticipated hiring range is $24.73 - $28.89 / $51,438.40 - $60,091.20 annually.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Unit supervisor, this position performs a wide variety of standardized duties associated with service of process, recording and maintenance of applicable data. This position maintains specialized clerical records and duties requiring advanced knowledge of department and operations of the unit to which assigned.
Administrative Technician -- Records focus: Maintains and controls records for the agency, files and sorts documents, and seals/expunges records per court orders; Completes and submits NIBRS (National Incident-Based Reporting System) statistical data; Assists with concealed handgun permit processing; Must be able to obtain Colorado Certified Records Network certification.

Provides direct communication and customer service to the public in-person and thru phone, mail and electronic means.
Reviews for accuracy, processes, manages and disseminates information, such as criminal justice records, criminal history information, and warrants issued by the courts in accordance with the policy of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and laws of the state of Colorado.
Updates and maintains information within the CCIC/NCIC database and in-house systems, as well as completes background searches and relays information appropriately as requested.
Ensures due process for inmates for court appearances, bonding, and addition of new warrants.
Tracks various @types of information and sensitive documents utilizing manual and automated systems.
Obtains required legal documents and other records through proper channels, compiles data and prepares reports.
Collects and manages service fees and penalty assessment fines.
Provides notary services for internal and external customers.
Processes deliveries and daily mail sorting for the Sheriff's Office.
Available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as the Sheriff's Office determines is necessary or desirable to meet its needs.
Interacts effectively with others and exercises good judgement when dealing with people in sensitive situations.
Operates computers and standard office equipment, including commonly used computer software programs.
Maintains regular and acceptable attendance at such level as determined at the Sheriff's Office discretion.
Performs duties onsite, except those job duties that are customarily or by nature performed offsite.
Follows and supports the mission, values, organizational philosophies, operational principals, code of conduct, and policies and procedures of the Sheriff's Office.
May be assigned other duties as necessary.
Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the rules, regulations and processes, as required by the respective unit.
Knowledge of office methods and procedures, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.
Ability to operate computers and commonly used computer software programs, as well as any other standard office equipment as required by the position.
Ability to read, interpret and apply general procedures to specific work applications.
Ability to prepare and maintain clerical records, reports and filing systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with superiors, co-workers, the general public, attorney's offices, courts and other law enforcement agencies.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively in both verbal and written English.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Ability to apply sound reasoning and decision-making.
Ability to interact in a professional manner with all staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of clerical/administrative experience.
OR
Any equivalent education and experience that satisfies the requirements of the job as approved by the Sheriff.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: None.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to @type 35 WPM corrected.
Must be able to obtain NCIC/CCIC system access and operation certification.
Must be able to be certified and/or bonded (i.e., Notary Public).
Must possess CPR, AED and First Aid certification within the initial status period.
