ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Junior System Tester/Deployment Specialist to join our Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a 100% on-site , full-time position at the William J Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

TFDM is the surface management solution for the FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen). With growing congestion on the airport surface due to the increase in commercial air traffic nationwide, the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning on the airport ground is critical. TFDM will be:

Modernizing the air traffic control tower equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing electronic flight strips in the tower.

Streamlining the flow of departures on the surface to save fuel and reduce CO2 emissions.

Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities between the gate and the tower.

We are looking for an entry-level individual to work under supervision and in a team environment. This individual will/may:

Provide 2nd Level Engineering support.

Provide experience in:

Software requirement analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and/or maintenance of complex computer systems.

Software programming in the languages used for NAS and NAS support systems.

The development and improvement of software development processes.

Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement

All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.

Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).

Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.

Relocation Requirement

Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Education Requirement

All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and up to three (3) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR

Master's Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and at least one (1) year related work experience in a computer science or math field.

Required Skills

Experience in:

UNIX (SOLARIS)/LINUX (RHEL) and Windows.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).

Knowledge in:

System Testing, shakedowns, and deployment.

Network Systems (servers, routers, etc.)

Databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Have strong attention to details and willing to take initiative.

Ability to:

Work independently, as well as on a team.

Troubleshoot and isolate defects.

Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.

Preferred Skills

Working knowledge in:

FAA Testing and deployment.

Writing system test procedures, plans, and reports.

UNIX (SOLARIS)/LINUX (RHEL) and Windows

C/C++ Scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, etc.)

Microsoft Office (PPT, Visio)

Essential Daily Job Duties

Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for TFDM.

Collaborate with agile teams to develop, execute, and maintain systems in alignment with FAA requirements.

Support system development, testing, integration, and deployment activities locally and in the field.

Review and comment on system engineering, requirement, testing and training documents.

Attend meetings, such as Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), to support the program and team.

Participate in system test and key site test activities.

Provide remote data collect and analysis.

Conduct routine laboratory maintenance.

Provide end-user functionality support to the field remotely via the helpdesk.

Work Environment

Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard work hours.

Extensive travel (greater than 50%).

Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs.

Cubicle environment.

The base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
