The work:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data professional with a hybrid background across data analysis, data science, and data architecture. The Data Scientist will have experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, and Power BI, with strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL. The Data Scientist should be adept at building scalable data models, automating data workflows, and delivering actionable insights that drive organizational decision-making. You will:
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data architectures in platforms such as Databricks or equivalent big data environments.
Conduct data analysis and exploration using Python, SQL, and PySpark to extract trends, build dashboards, and support business decisions.
Develop and maintain data models, scripts, and proto@types to validate hypotheses and optimize data performance.
Create interactive visualizations and reports using Power BI or other visualization tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, document data flows, and build reusable analytical assets.
Apply agile and iterative frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) to manage deliverables, sprints, and product backlogs effectively.
Support data governance, documentation, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Contribute to cybersecurity-related data initiatives, such as threat analysis or vulnerability trend visualization (Preferred).
Here's what you need:
3+ years' experience in a client facing data analysis or data science role.
Proficiency in Python and PySpark for large-scale data manipulation and analytics.
Strong working knowledge of SQL (structured and unstructured data) and database design.
Hands-on experience with Databricks (or similar distributed compute frameworks).
Knowledge of Power BI or equivalent BI tools to deliver impactful, interactive visualizations.
Proven ability to build, document, and maintain data models and pipelines in a collaborative environment.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies, including sprint planning, story estimation, and iterative delivery.
Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Points if you have:
Exposure to cybersecurity datasets (e.g., threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or incident response).
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern DevOps or CI/CD practices.
Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging. Ability to proto@type and iterate quickly on ideas for business partners.
Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field.
Certifications in Databricks, AWS, Azure Data Engineer, or Power BI are a plus.
