ASSISTANT TOWN ENGINEER

\$87,500 - \$95,500 w/ an Excellent Benefits Package

The Assistant Town Engineer provides technical expertise, ensures regulatory compliance,

manages consultants and contractors, and supports data-driven decision-making to

advance safe, efficient, and sustainable public infrastructure that meets the needs of the

community. Projects will include the maintenance, repair, or construction of Town

wastewater collection, stormwater, public buildings, streets and bike/pedestrian paths.

The Assistant Town Engineer will advance municipal capital projects through all stages of

development, including project development, community input, budgeting, planning and

bid, specification document development, permitting, contractor procurement and

contractor oversight, within budget and on time.

We need this staff member to work on federally funded transportation projects, scoping,

state and federal environmental permitting, grant procurement, oversight of engineering

design, right-of-way acquisition, development of written contract documents, contractor

selection, contractor management, federal contract compliance, field review of

construction and approval of work. We would prefer experience but also enjoy training the

right person.

Applicants should have a bachelors degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field,

and four years of experience, including maintaining and constructing public infrastructure.
