Position Overview: Controller

We're seeking a hands-on, results-driven Manufacturing Controller to lead our accounting operations and drive financial performance across our production and distribution footprint. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands the financial heartbeat of manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Accounting Function: Oversee all aspects of accounting including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, credit & collections, and tax compliance (income, sales, property).

Own the Close Process: Drive a disciplined, repeatable month-end close and deliver timely, accurate financial statements and reporting across business units.

Partner with Operations: Collaborate with production, supply chain, and other departments to analyze cost variances, streamline processes, and deliver actionable financial insights.

Optimize Systems & Processes: Continuously improve accounting workflows with a focus on automation, accuracy, and scalability to support growth and operational excellence.

Audit & Compliance: Manage external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, tax filings, and financial reporting standards.

Global Coordination: Work with international affiliates to align accounting practices and manage intercompany transactions and eliminations.

Team Leadership: Set clear goals, mentor accounting staff, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications

Proven ability to lead accounting in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.

CPA or MBA desired

Minimum 2 years in public accounting (audit focus preferred).

Strong command of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory controls, and financial systems.

Experience implementing accounting infrastructure and IT solutions to support growth.

SAP and Excel proficiency; Google Suite familiarity a plus.

Skilled in managing intercompany transactions and federal contract compliance.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting (MBA preferred).

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in public accounting or senior audit roles.

Experience with multi-state operations, distribution, and government contracts (GSA) is highly desirable
