Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Quality team at our Construction Equipment facilty. This position will be on-site based in Salina, KS, but may travel frequently to our other facilities within the state of Kansas.

This position typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and sustain a safety culture within the Quality Department.

Lead and develop Quality staff in coaching and training on disciplines that will improve their performance. Collaborate with Human Resources to create a succession plan.

Coordinate plant Quality activities with cross-functional teams including Production, Manufacturing Engineers, Safety, Sales, Human Resources and other departments.

Drive continuous Quality improvements and culture based on current best practices and LEAN Manufacturing methods.

Lead the overall Quality operations of the plant, including the identification and elimination of waste to improve plant profitability.

Develop and set the Quality vision for the plant and assists in the execution.

Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus 3 years minimum direct supervisory experience in a vertically integrated manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge of quality, manufacturing assembly, paint, robotic weld and fabrication.

Proven problem solving and root cause analysis skills.

Experience managing and leading LEAN manufacturing events.

Strong, customer-focused mindset.
