Supporting the oversight of data management, requirements, systems integration, testing, technology integration, fielding, configuration management and control in support of the Branch's mission and objectives. Supporting computer network defense, identification/authentication/access control, data, protection mechanisms, and data transfer mechanisms. Applying IT principles, methods, and practices; technical documentation methods and procedures and analytical methods sufficient to perform routine and recurring assignments and identifying and resolving issues and problems. Assessing planned system changes for security impacts and coordinating with system owners and managers to enable implementation of security controls while meeting current and future business requirements. Specialized experience for this position includes: Reviewing solutions to mitigate security concerns and issues AND Responding to security-related requests from end-users regarding desktop or mobile software. AND Providing risk assessments and threat intelligence reports. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, two full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. OR A combination of education and experience. For the GS-11: The next lower grade level is a GS-09. Specialized experience for this position includes: Identifying vulnerabilities AND Developing and implementing safe technology solutions that are compliant with organizational and regulatory policies. AND Providing initial investigation services for misuse on computer systems, networks and applications. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
