Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Corporate Compliance Team for an exciting opportunity as a Lead Auditor! As the lead auditor, you will support the DCT Corporate Compliance and Internal Audits Director and Deputy Director of Internal Audits by leading the day-to-day operations of DCT audit activities. The incumbent will serve as a team lead and subject matter expert for internal financial, operations and compliance audits of the enterprise , independently planning and conducting audits, and special reviews.
This position plays a vital role in advancing the effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of the organization's risk management practices and operational compliance. This position will evaluate the adequacy of internal controls, identify control gaps, assess risk, ensure compliance with agency policies and both state and federal regulations, and recommends improvements to strengthen the safeguarding of state assets.
Responsibilities include:
Lead financial, compliance, and/or program audits, reviews, and advises and educates stakeholders of audit operations and best practices.
Direct and review the work of other auditors to ensure the proper preparation of final reports.
Conduct highly sensitive and discreet investigations of alleged improprieties involving complicated schemes to defraud complex and highly regulated programs administered by the State.
Provide expert consultancy services and lead, facilitate, and participate in discussions on key internal controls issues that plan, decide, direct, implement and create policy that impacts internal controls over a wide variety of program areas.
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience in auditing and compliance. Experience must demonstrate the following:
Managing and leading audits, including developing a long-range audit plan.
Leading and conducting financial and/or compliance engagements (audits and/or reviews) of records including investigations of fraud, waste and/or abuse.
Managing relationships with the ability to communicate effectively throughout all phases of the audit process to all stakeholders including explaining and resolving complex issues.
Broad and extensive knowledge of Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government (commonly called the Green Book ).
Analyzing internal controls, business operations, and/or compliance with applicable requirements.
Experience in a government and/or healthcare setting.
Experience with interpreting state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or higher.
Knowledge of Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) and Statewide Employee Management (SEMA4) using PeopleSoft software platform, or similar financial control systems.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, leadership, and external partners to achieve shared goals.
