We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Shoreview, Minnesota. This Contract-to-continuous position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial success of the organization by managing key accounting processes and providing valuable insights for decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses by analyzing and compiling financial transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Participate in leadership meetings by providing financial data and insights to guide organizational spending and investment decisions.

Reconcile and maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, posting, and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.

Support the monthly and weekly financial reporting processes, including assisting with financial close activities.

Conduct data analysis to identify patterns and financial indicators that improve forecasting and strategic planning.

Create detailed monthly financial reports, highlighting key variances and trends for management review.

Drive process improvements within the accounting function to align with best practices and minimize organizational risks.

Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.

Oversee sales tax and corporate tax return preparation to ensure compliance with regulations.

Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks Online, to maintain and monitor the general ledger.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Proven experience of 3-4 years in an accounting role requiring precision and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online, with advanced knowledge of financial tools.

Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting and analysis tools.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial data.

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and mathematical aptitude.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.

Experience in tax-related processes, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.
