Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of 70+ hotels. This role is critical to ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, cash management, and tax compliance across multiple properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations

Review and resolve errors in daily hotel reports

Monitor cash balances and prevent hotel account overdraws

Assist the Accounts Payable department with invoice and payment issues

Monthly Close Process

Begin bank statement reconciliations by the 4th-5th of each month

Prepare and post journal entries

Complete financial statements for all hotels

Ensure hotels are finalized and delivered to owners

Finalize remaining hotel financials

Tax & Compliance

Prepare and file sales tax returns

Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards

Review & Collaboration

Work closely with three supervisors who review ledgers and financials

Participate in review cycles, finalize reports, and revisit data for accuracy

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2+ years of accounting experience (hospitality or multi-entity preferred)

Strong understanding of payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations

Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (team uses Sage)

Ability to manage high-volume deadlines and prioritize effectively

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Hotel or multi-disciplinary industry experience
