About the role Leviton is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager with a background in engineering to lead and coordinate New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in managing complex, cross-functional projects within a manufacturing environment. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving the full lifecycle of product development-from concept and design through prototyping, validation, and production launch-ensuring strict adherence to Leviton's phase/gate development process. You will manage multiple medium to high complexity projects, balancing scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives. Responsibilities Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and product validation. Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Global Sourcing to ensure project alignment and timely execution. Apply engineering principles and manufacturing process knowledge to identify risks, resolve technical challenges, and optimize product performance and manufacturability. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet). Facilitate regular status meetings, setting agendas, documenting meeting minutes and action items, tracking KPIs, and reporting on progress to senior leadership. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems. Resolve project roadblocks and proactively address issues that may impact timelines, quality, or budget. Train and mentor team members on the NPI process, and recommend enhancements to improve product quality, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery. Qualifications Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong aptitude for solving real-world problems, managing multiple variables, and making data-driven decisions under pressure. Effective at motivating and influencing cross-functional teams, including individuals outside of direct reporting lines, to achieve shared goals and maintain accountability. Proven ability to analyze and resolve process and procedural challenges, implementing practical and scalable solutions. Skilled in developing and delivering executive-level presentations, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to all stakeholders. Experience with ERP systems and CAD tools is a plus. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field; PMP certification is a plus. 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably in product development. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability (DFM), and product lifecycle management (PLM).
