Printer Operator

Job Descriptions for Web Operator

Safety

Follows safety procedures.

Reports any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader or Department Manager.

Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of employees.

Understands all actions on JHAs for print assistant position and performs all essential care

Production

Safety always takes priority over production

Primarily responsible for everything and everyone on the machine

Functions as part of the crew on the machine (rotating, breaks, etc.)

Works in conjunction with the machine operator and / or Print specialist, Unwinder and Rewinder

Assists in and learns Make Ready process on all sections of the machine

Proofreads job jacket for specific job information

Collects customer job samples (if required)

Cuts wraps and dresses unprinted rolls with minimum waste and in a timely manner

Removes waste and trash from the work stations

Maintains the overall cleanliness of the Press, Press Room, and ink room

Sets up proper delivery for every job

Pays close attention to the machine during splicing and operation. Shuts down the machine during times of distress or failure.

Follows , within reason, the instruction of the machine operator.

Actively learn the print process in effort to run the machine in the future or the operators\u2019 absence.

Quality

Maintains excellent product quality

Ensures control plan is adhered to

Responsible for ensuring that correct procedure is followed for rejection of raw material

Responsible for ensuring proper procedure is followed for rejecting or passing questionable product produced by their machine

All of the above in the operators absence.

Maintenance

Can assist in maintenance of machine when necessary.

Housekeeping

Assists with housekeeping of machine.

Responsible for the cleanliness of the equipment in their assigned area.

Machinery

Perform and ensure all preventative maintenance is being performed on machine according to scheduled Zone PM\u2019s

Responsible for troubleshooting problems with the machine and equipment
