Description
Applies a tactical knowledge of quality engineering principles to production processes to ensure quality standards are implemented and adhered to throughout the entirety of the manufacturing process. Supports design and implementation of changes to improve productivity and profitability of existing production procedures and provide ongoing support through the manufacturing life cycle. Fills the role of technical resource for process technology implemented in production methodology and supports exploration of new methods. Provides routine support for the execution of quality acceptance standards and improvements to increase robustness of quality design inherent to process design to advance repeatability and reliability of quality product production. Partners with operations leaders to fully execute designed production processes that adhere to quality standards and steps in for seamless support of production leadership to match production working hours. Skills/Abilities - Able to effectively apply quality engineering technical principles, concepts, practices, standards, and procedures (pursuing ASQ certification as Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge) - Strong analysis skills: process, capacity, cost/benefit, waste stream, and quality tools. - Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques: flow, PQ, equipment reliability, and set up reduction. - Able to develop technical solutions to a variety of complex problems of strategic scope with minimal support - Able to apply creative solutions to improvement of practices and procedures with minimal support - Able to inform decisions in matters of significance to a positive customer experience with minimal support - Understanding of and ability to utilize productivity improvement techniques: RCI's - Able to interface and interact with multiple functions within the company and with next level leaders in management/technical ability to support improvement in manufacturing areas - Project management skills with cross-functional teams; basic facilitation skills - Able to complete financial comparisons for production process changes including ROI with minimal support - Understanding of application and uses work measurement/time studies for process/performance improvement with minimal support - Able to provide technical support on projects within assigned areas/value stream - Strong computer skills (excel, word, powerpoint, programming is a plus) - Basic understanding in design, specification, purchase, and installation of new equipment and engages with Senior Technical Engineer on execution of new equipment processes - Awareness of material handling solutions available to support efficient flow within production areas - Understanding of simulation, process modeling, and value stream mapping - Understanding of occupational Biomechanics/Human Factors Engineering - Understanding of product testing requirements, product development cycle, and specials processes - Understands and is able to interface with other segments of the order fulfillment process with minimal support - Supports efforts for tracking and acting upon metrics for actionable SQDC related improvements

Task 1. Quality Assurance Systems: Supports the design, installation, and evaluation of quality assurance systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. 2. Equipment and Process Validation: Takes a support role in the design or specification of inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment to analyze production and service processes and standards; makes tactical recommendations and provides input of revision of specifications when required. 3. Improvements: Evaluates manufacturing processes to ensure optimal labor and material costs to increase productivity and profitability. Supports manufacturing assessment and development of justifications to identify prime areas for improvement. Tracks expenditures to ensure outlays are within budgeted amounts. Identifies, reduces, and eliminates worker exposure(s) to ergonomic stress(es) in the work place. Evaluates processes to identify potential product quality risks that can negatively impact customer experience and increase CoNQ exposure, and supports task completion to eliminate or minimize these risks. 4. Floor Support: Provides timely product and process support for any manufacturing area to diagnose problems and implement solutions to minimize interruptions to production. Provides back-up/coverage for operations leaders to maintain consistency in business focused SQDC support. 5. Special Projects: Engages as a team member in the implementation of significant cross-functional projects to improve product, process, customer, supplier and quality-related issues. 6. Customer Service Response: Engages with Technical Engineering Team Leader to identify root cause and development of corrective actions including potential process or quality assurance changes to address customer service or supplier quality issues at the root cause. 7. Strategic/Manufacturing Planning: Engages with Senior Technical Engineers to research to introduce/integrate new processes, equipment, and technologies into the company.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.67/hr.
