JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION DESCRIPTION: National Defense Corporation is seeking a Production/Manufacturing Engineer. Production/Manufacturing Engineers are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives. We are seeking a Production/Manufacturing Engineer that will use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for Production/Manufacturing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The selected candidate will design and develop assembly and manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Other duties may include: Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial assembly and manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Incorporate quality inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve assembly and manufacturing goals according to product specifications and drawings. Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Communicates assembly and manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes. Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts. Must be able to obtain BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives) approval. Due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. POSITION TYPE: This is a Salary Exempt full-time position. TRAVEL: Travel (15-20% of work time). ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: Qualifications Staff Production/Manufacturing Engineer: Bachelor\'s Degree and/or 15 years of technical and/or engineering experience; OR Master\'s Degree with 10 years of experience. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period prior to starting. Clearance is not required to apply. Preferred Qualifications: STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical) Knowledge and experience of advance production techniques and automation systems. Ability to design, confer and manage subcontractor programs Experience with advanced manufacturing process, equipment and inspection processes Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Experience with root cause & corrective action processes and techniques Functional knowledge of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing work procedures Familiarity and experience with products containing with hazardous materials (specifically, pyrotechnics, explosives and propellants) Familiarity and knowledge of CAD software Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment ** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Other: AMTEC Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
