Food Service Team Member Sundo Travel Plaza, Whiteville, NC Full-time A food handler or food service team member is responsible for preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and ensuring compliance with food safety and company standards. This role often involves working in a deli, bakery, or quick-service restaurant environment. #### #### Primary Responsibilities Food preparation: Prepare food according to company-mandated processes and standards. This may involve stocking and monitoring hot deli cases, following recipes, and preparing ingredients. Food safety and cleanliness: Maintain proper food storage and safety standards to prevent spoilage. Keep the food preparation area, dishes, and utensils organized, sanitized, and clean. Customer service: Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, take orders, process payments, and resolve any food or service issues. Stocking and organization: Monitor and restock food supplies and ingredients to ensure items are fresh and readily available. Operational assistance: Assist with other duties in the travel center as needed, such as cleaning restrooms, stocking shelves, or making coffee. #### Required Skills Teamwork: The ability to work cooperatively with fellow team members and accept coaching from management. Physical stamina: The job may require standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Motivation: Must be highly motivated and a self-starter. Communication: Effective communication skills to interact positively with customers and colleagues. Adaptability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Food Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of proper food safety procedures is a preferred qualification.
