We operate in Canada as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel Canada, and subsequent communication related to Canadian positions may show the ELS name. Work Shift:Job Description:Assist Product Development electrical engineers in the conceptualization, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing product designs using sound electrical engineering principles in support of company business development efforts, marketing plans and department plans. Analyze specifications, as well as business, technology & cost requirements, and implement appropriate, approved designs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Take steps necessary to ensure product reliability, performance, and customer acceptance.PRIMARY DUTIESUnder the guidance of the Electrical Engineering Manager and electrical engineers, conceptualize, and develop material handling products using sound electrical engineering principlesAdhere to suitable design and documentation practices and methodologiesSupport internal and external customers in product use and application as requiredSupport vendors in product and sub-component fabrication as requiredAdhere to project timelines and budgetsParticipate in Product Development department and company projects as assignedParticipate in functional and accelerated life tests to ensure product reliability and performanceSECONDARY DUTIESProvide support and documentation to enable company staff to quote and source materialsParticipate in the identification and recommendation of new material handling technology solutionsServe as a technical resource to other departments as requiredSPECIFIC DUTIESDevelop and maintain organized design documentationCreate and maintain CAD product detail drawings, adhering to suitable standardsCreate and maintain product bills of material and routingsExecute engineering change notices as requiredAssist in design and documentation of new and revised electrical circuitsProvide technical assistance both within and outside the departmentAssist in the design and fabrication of test fixturesAssist in the design and fabrication of new product proto@type unitsAssist in the testing of new products and revisions including functional, accelerated life, abusive and ultimate tests and prepare associated test reportsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEnrollment in a 4 year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology degree programHighly motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines and high quality requirementsStrong communication skills (Verbal & Written)Problem solving skillsDESIRED EXPERIENCEFamiliarity with test engineering processes/electrical test proceduresSolidworks/AutoCADMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Gorbel is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, gender identity, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
