Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Bardstown, Kentucky. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting various accounting functions. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on collaboration and growth.

Responsibilities:

Support month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Prepare and maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.

Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts.

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.

Track and analyze self-funded benefits on a weekly and monthly basis.

Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, including cash flow analysis.

Provide backup support for payroll and HR functions within the executive group.

Collaborate on budget preparation and financial package assembly.

Deliver assistance in finance administration tasks and act as backup for senior accounting roles.

Offer support for system implementation and enhancement of accounting tools, such as JD Edwards Oracle. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or manufacturing environments.

Proficiency in cost accounting practices is advantageous.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

Familiarity with JD Edwards Oracle software is preferred.

Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.

Experience in managing corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger tasks.

Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and corporate tax returns.
