Job Title: Manufacturing AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Ormond Beach, FL. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience in a manufacturing environment and be able to interpret accounting reports and explain them to the finance team to aid in projections. This role plays a key role in driving financial excellence by analyzing business performance, ensuring cost control, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is an on-site role, reporting to the Business Controller, and will collaborate closely with various teams to support the company's financial goals.

Responsibilities

Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs to identify variances and trends, collaborating with production teams to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.

Reconcile balance sheet and ensure all financial records comply with accounting standards and company policies, including intercompany transactions.

Evaluate financial performance and provide actionable insights to support decision-making; prepare reports on key performance indicators to track progress against business goals.

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management; support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.

Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and implement improvements.

Essential Skills

Experience in cost accounting and making journal entries.

Strong skills in cost control, financial analysis, financial reporting, reconciliation, and journal entry.

Experience in performing analyses of business performance versus plan and proposing improvement actions.

Ability to benchmark key performance indicators with industry competitors and similar sites.

Proficiency in financial modeling, focusing on product/business line profitability, product costing, production variances, and inventory analysis.

Experience in supporting financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Initiative, problem-solving skills, and confidence to explain concepts and new ideas.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, lookups, index matching, and macros.

Experience with SAP (preferred) and developing in Power BI.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a financial analyst role.

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Proficiency in English language skills.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position, reporting directly to the Business Controller. Employees are entitled to profit sharing, with a 401k that includes a 7.5% match. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ormond Beach, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
