CMM PROGRAMMER (PLTX):
Bowhead seeks an Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Programmer to join our Manufacturing and Products Group team in Plano, TX. The CMM Programmer will be responsible for setting up and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and associated equipment to conduct precise measurements of parts, tooling, and fixtures.
Responsibilities
Must be able to independently program parts using PCDMIS or equivalent software.
Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and associated equipment to conduct precise measurements of parts, tooling, and fixtures.
Must be able read and interpret drawings, with a strong understanding of GD&T principles.
Develop setup sheets and supporting documentation for measurement processes.
Interpret measurement data, including output data and graphical element data, and analyze the final product to verify compliance with specifications outlined in drawings.
Support inspection of products.
Perform routine calibration and qualification of probes, as well as maintain equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance, including regular cleaning procedures.
Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all measurements and inspections.
Document CMM program updates and log changes to CMM operating procedures.
Provide feedback to engineering, production, and quality assurance teams on measurement results and potential improvements.
Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve measurement and quality issues.
Stay informed on new manufacturing technologies. Investigate and recommend new processing technologies that improve efficiency and quality.
Proficient with hand measurement gauges, such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, Microhites, etc.
Support Lean initiatives and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associates degree required and a minimum of five (5) years CMM programming using Open DMIS software experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and mechanical drawings preferred.
Proficiency in operating CMMs and related software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the organization.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS :There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
