Summary This position is organizationally aligned under the Office of the Associate Director at the VA Illiana Health Care System VAIHCS (550) Danville, IL. The primary purpose of this position is to serves as the Facility Chief of Environmental Management Service (EMS) and coordinate the delivery and administrative and managerial responsibility for the planning, coordinating, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive Environmental Management program. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/27/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. Knowledge of the development, implementation and maintenance of GEMS requirements in accordance with VHA and health care system policy. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have: Undergraduate Education: Major field of study - chemistry or biological sciences, sanitary science or administration, institutional sanitation or administration, hospital administration, hotel administration, public administration, business administration, or other fields related to the position. -OR-- Graduate Education: Major field of study - public health or business administration with emphasis in hospital administration.
