Duties assigned to an entry grade of GS-06 will be developmental in nature. Ensures budgetary compliance within program guidance on all property and consumable acquisitions. Determines stock levels and reorder points through usage levels and demand based requirements. Initiates and conducts discrepancy research, prepares supply discrepancy reports, and initiates appropriate action to resolve discrepancies. Provides technical guidance and training on regulatory and administrative responsibilities to lower graded technicians, clerks, and originators. Serves as point of contact for administrative aspects of property and consumable supply acquisitions to include oversight and review of purchasing requests. Prepares comprehensive property inventory analysis. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-06 Specialized experience is defined as: performing tasks such as maintaining an inventory reporting process, conducting physical inventory, monitoring stock, or preparing orders/requisitions for general supply, equipment, and/or capital assets. GS-07 Specialized experience is defined as: performing multiple tasks such as receipt, storage, documentation, distribution and/or disposal of a variety of property such as general supply, equipment, and/or capital assets. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-06, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-07, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher in the Federal service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. Education GS-06 Substitution of Education for Experience: Six months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements when the education is directly related to the position being filled. GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled.
