The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of power generators and associated mechanical systems. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and efficient operation of equipment. The engineer will also contribute to troubleshooting, performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties and Key Responsibilities

? Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems with emphasis on power generators and rotating equipment. ? Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems. ? Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis of generator and mechanical system failures. ? Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. ? Perform mechanical calculations, simulations, and performance analysis. ? Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and technicians on cross-disciplinary projects. ? Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards. ? Provide technical guidance and expertise to power generation staff.

Required Skills and Abilities

? Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science. ? Hands-on experience with power generators, turbines, or rotating equipment. ? Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA or similar). ? Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. ? Strong verbal and written communication abilities. ? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. ? Proven project management and leadership capabilities.

Minimum Education and Experience

? Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field (masters degree preferred). ? Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering. ? Industry background in power generation, energy, oil and gas, or utilities highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

? Ability to sit, stand, and move about within office and field environments. ? Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. ? Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in field or plant settings. ? May require travel to job sites or field locations.
