We are currently looking for a Piping Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Piping Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing the fabrication and installation of Piping Systems and other custom components at field locations. You will meet with clients, and/ or clients representative, at various facilities to gather information by means of bid meetings, site walkthroughs, meeting directly with facility plant managers, project managers and engineers. Fulltime company vehicle, gas card & EZ Pass included. Prepare estimates and proposals for approval by the Industrial Service Manager based on client's needs. Work scope to include material, labor, code requirements, logistics etc. Supervise and schedule work crews, monitor the crews for quality and budget. Including any change orders. Close out project and review billing with RI IS Managers prior to presenting to the client.
What You Will Be Doing
Visit various job sites directed by the Industrial Services Manager.
Acquire work scope from clients by means of attending bid meetings, requests from the client, client's verbal directive etc.
Review drawings, drawing notes, work scope, sketches, and or information from the client.
Estimates all labor, materials, logistics and all costs to perform and complete client's request.
Prepares all costs for the project in an organized format and presents them to the Industrial Service Manager for approval.
Prepares proposal to include all stipulations and clarifications.
Summits purchase order requests for the project to purchasing.
Schedule project with client.
Establishes manpower needs and schedules with Industrial Service dispatcher.
Schedules shop fabrication as needed to support field installation.
Lines up equipment for project installation
Gives field installation crews complete directive of work scope and instruction.
Routinely communicates with client and field crews to monitor progress.
Makes frequent visits to worksite locations.
Assures work scope is complete and closes project that includes final billing to the client.
Additional duties as assigned.
Your Background
High School Education or Equivalent (GED), related Trade school and History of experience in this industry required.
Have proven 5+ years' work history in fabricating and installing various piping systems in a field environment.
Preferred background in Manufacturing Industries such as Food & Beverage, Chemical, Paper & Pulp or similar.
Must be able to interpret PI&Ds, construction drawings, specifications, bid packages, etc.
Well versed in ASME B31.1.
Able to field sketch as needed to bring information back to shop for fabrication.
Well versed with Microsoft Office, Excel (Alto Cad is a plus).
Have excellent communication skills and a team player.
Strong customer-service focus is essential to succeed in this position.
Work flexible hours to meet the installation needs of our customers.
Able to work overtime when needed.
Must have a valid driver's license.
OSHA /10 safety training required provided by Rhoads, (having an up-to-date OSHA/10 is a plus).
The Work Environment at Rhoads
The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving in an automobile/truck/forklift.
May require walking and standing on irregular, uneven surfaces in an industrial setting and possibly at increased heights climbing and descending ladders and stairways.
Ability to lift to 75 lbs.
