Job Summary and Qualifications
Position is responsible for constant surveillance of the central telemetry monitor station for identification and documentation of patient telemetry monitor patterns and interpretation. The Monitor Technician has responsibility to notify assigned nurses of patients' cardiac monitor rhythm and any changes that require immediate or planned intervention.
What you will do in this role:
Maintains a clean, organized environment; helps with inventory of supplies and equipment.
Process physician's orders, including daily lab, EKG, etc.
Processes data for charts, includes data from other departments, telemetry strips, and adds chart forms.
Demonstrates proficient use of Order Entry System,
Answers phone and processes data received per phone.
Maintains charts with appropriate forms, patient information, allergies, etc.
Accurately interprets EKG rhythms, runs strip as required and notifies Charge Nurse or patient care person.
Responds immediately and appropriately to inquiries, requests appropriately.
Demonstrates proficient use of telemetry monitors used at NOMC.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to safely and appropriately fulfill job specific responsibilities related to safety, security, emergency preparedness, control of hazardous materials/waste, life safety medical equipment and utility systems as outlines in the hospital's environment of care plan.
Possesses awareness of hospital information systems and procedures, location of other hospital departments, treatment areas, and other patient care service areas.
Initiates and maintains patient charts. Assists Charge Nurse in maintaining Charge Nurse Report Sheet.
Prepares charts upon discharge and expiration of patients, to be returned to medical records according to hospital policy.
What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
High School Graduate / GED
