Requirements

Top 3 Requirements:

2+ years' experience in a Data Scientist role

Experience using different data mining techniques such as clustering, regression analysis, decision trees and support vector machines

Python & SQL (has database experience)

NLP and Large language models (LLM)

Prompting experience (prompt engineer), working on programs like ChatGPT (genetic AI)

Must be fluent in Spanish

Plusses:

Call center data or real-time data

Familiarity with Azure cloud

Day to Day/Project:

A telecommunications client is seeking a Data Scientist II to join their team! They are responsible for mining complex data and providing systems-related advice for their organization. They design new ways to incorporate vast information with a focus on information technology topics. They work with teams of other IT professionals to manage statistical data and create different models based on the needs of their company. They possess advanced analytical skills, in addition to their exceptional oral and written communication abilities. They process research information for easier consumption and transform it into actionable plans. They also provide value to their businesses through their findings and thoughtful insights. IT data scientists follow specific, strict company and industry guidelines in their work. They observe data privacy rights to ensure client satisfaction and avoid legal issues. They create networks of professionals to consult, including internal partners and external colleagues. Most of the time, Data Scientists work in teams using collaborative filtering, k-nearest neighbors, market basket analysis and matrix factorization methods. They deal with cutting edge technologies on a regular basis and often have the best tools available at their disposal. One of their main work tools is usually an industrial computer with high processing power and proprietary software applications for research tasks. Supporting real time project supporting data scientists, working hand in hand model validation and data labeling, 2 analysts with identical skillsets, bringing in data from central environment building dashboards, stakeholders will be business and the team, building dashboard, publishing, sharing them, quality assurance, model outputs, reading transcripts, articulate deficiencies of the model and where improvements needs to be, technical requirements documentation and upload to project management tools, data bricks for dashboarding and power BI (not tableau).

Day to Day/Project (based on previous openings):

A data science team helping the call centers. Call centers for customers, record those calls, convert through text (call transcripts)... get those 2 days later, now they are doing a real time call transcription live. Data science models that they are building: sentiment graphs (if they are having a bad day), call summarization (5 seconds after the call) so the next agent knows what the issues was with that customer before, why is the customer calling (internet, video, etc.) and what is the issue (not working, too expensive, better deal with a competitor, etc.) then there will be scripts for the agent with options to give the customer.
