Marketing Director - US Knee

The US Primary Knee Marketing Director is responsible in making an impact in the US Knees market and get SN to take sure with an exciting portfolio and pipeline.
The Director will plan and drive downstream marketing strategies and tactics required to drive sustained revenue growth in the highly competitive Knee Reconstruction Market. The Director will work closely with the Sales Teams, Global Marketing; Medical Education, and Sales Training, Supply Chain to build and implement effective marketing strategies and drive commercial execution for the primary knee business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, will show leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the orthopaedics industry. This role will supervise a team of two direct reports and will be instrumental in driving our marketing strategy and growth. This position is highly visible internally and externally and it is fundamental for the growth of the entire SN organization.
What will you be doing?
Develop and complete knee marketing strategies to align with Smith + Nephew business and growth objectives
Responsible for developing, guiding, and driving go to market plans for assigned product lines including promotions, medical education, digital marketing, channel readiness, inventory requirement and allocation
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of marketing professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Develop a deep understanding of the knee reconstruction market landscape: market trends, customer priorities, and competitive landscape to shape our go to market approach
Build and supervise key performance indicators in for primary knee portfolio in the US and own the remediation effort to drive deeper market penetration of primary knee products
Support the annual business planning process for assigned region, partnering with global marketing, sales management, medical education, sales training, digital, and supply planning
Lead and complete product life cycle management strategies and product obsolescence initiatives
Partner with sales team to define and implement effective targeting, develop physician champions, and gather input to drive marketing decisions
Partner with pricing team to develop and complete sound and effective pricing strategies
Develop and maintain product forecasts in collaboration with demand, supply, and operations teams
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
Supervise the creation of marketing materials, campaigns, and content that effectively communicate our value proposition
Support the commercial team with technical product support both in the field and in corporate offices to ensure customer conversion and happiness
Supports industry educational meetings and events, on-site customer meetings and labs, national sales meeting and other strategic meetings.
What will you need to be successful?
BS degree (preferably Marketing or Business) with 10+ years experience
Team Player and highly skilled in driving collaboration across functions
Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with experience in guiding and developing a team.
Strong marketing skills with a consistent track record of developing and driving successful marketing campaigns and value propositions.
Track record in executing downstream activities in the US market
Surgeon and KOL management capabilities
In-depth knowledge of the orthopaedics industry, including market trends and key players.
Analytical skills to interpret market data, assess campaign performance, pricing strategy, and make data-driven decisions.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various partners.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex marketing challenges.
Ability to influence and align cross-functional colleagues to a common goal without authority over them
Willingness to "roll up sleeves" to perform at all levels and assist in areas outside of core responsibilities
Travel Requirements: up to 50%
Location: Field; ideally close to an SN Office (Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA; Andover; MA)

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $180,000 - 210,000 USD annually (or hourly) The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
