As a Supervisory Lead Engineer you will various technical services and engineering support for safe and reliable solutions for plant fluid and mechanical systems. Typical work includes the design and analysis of thermal-hydraulic networks, equipment sizing, plant programs, and requirements management for plant design or modifications.
You will report to the Engineering Manager of Nuclear Process & Power Conversion Systems and be located at our Global Headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
The Supervisory Engineer in the Fluid Systems Group by fulfilling lead/supervisor responsibilities as defined in the Leadership Bars 2.0. The Supervisory Engineer will be the Technical Leader for System Design of Nuclear Island Systems. You will contribute further to technology development and improvements, and will take team management & lead responsibility. The workload associated with this role includes performance, and resource loading of the team for GES projects across the globe. The remainder of the Supervisory Engineer responsibilities will consist of technical and/or project work. In that role they will be the direct interface between engineers, internal or external customers, the Fluid Systems group manager, and the Westinghouse Team leaders.
The Supervisory Engineer will be the Technical Leader for System Design group, they will contribute further to technology development and improvements, and will take team management & lead responsibility. In that role they will be the direct interface between junior engineers and the Fluid Systems group manager.
Technical Lead
Leadership and coordination during preparation of proposals (work package definition, coordination of technical descriptions, scheduling, calculation of efforts)
Leadership in designing products, processes, components or portions of a functional system as part of a broader engineering solution including creating layouts and detailing mechanisms, structures, and parts for a major/more complex product component, portion of a functional system/manufacturing operation, or technically advanced proto@type
Research the ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, etc. and may prepare cost studies for assigned systems, structures, and components
Drive continuous improvement and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products, processes, and/or procedures, and contributes to development of new methods and processes, as well as their introduction
Manage & lead an engineering team (mentoring, training, time entries, issue resolution, etc..)
Support the Fluid Systems group manager in workload planning and resource assignments
Support new engineer onboarding and training
Lead innovation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
10 years of applicable engineering experience
Proven engineering leadership, either as a Technical Lead or Project Manager. including
Management of teams in challenging situations
Frequent interactions with customers
In depth knowledge about fluid systems, both Generation II, and Generation III+
Technical interest, predisposition for understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities
Extensive engineering knowledge and recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more engineering specialties and is capable to lead engineering efforts on a project at the discipline level
Work highly independent, capability of not only mentoring engineers, but also the capability of effectively leading a team of engineers in the execution of complex tasks
A Professional Engineering License or equivalent.

Annually Paid: We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
