Full-time, 40 hours per week The landfill is open from 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays from 8am 1pm. The Highway Department is open from 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday. The person who fills this role be on a rotating schedule that will require them to work Saturdays. This position will be shared between the Landfill & Highway Departments of Steele County. Benefit & Pension Eligible Steele County will contribute to HSA/VEBA $1,700 for single or $3,500 for family (if you elect to pay for our Medical insurance that is provided by Medica); other benefits that are available include dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability insurance, deferred compensation plan, pension plan, employee assistance program, etc Accounting Support Specialist represents a broad grouping of positions engaged in the maintenance and preparation of accounting records, receipting of payments and processing transactions in assigned areas. Positions assigned to this classification require some on-the-job training and some prior work experience in performing general bookkeeping and accounting operational procedures. Under the direction of the Landfill Supervisor and the Public Works Director, the Accounting Support Specialist duties include, but are not limited to: Performs accounts receivable responsibilities. o Generates scale tickets for haulers and/or self-haulers; enters scale tickets into accounting software o Bills and sends out invoices/statements to haulers o Cash/Credit Card transactions from the general public o Prepares daily deposits and balances cash Implements and conducts duties and tasks in the areas of accounts payable. Assist in gathering year end information needed for the preparation of audit. Performs general office, customer service and/or clerical duties.
