Summary You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Mechanical Shop (Code 930), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the quantity and quality of the work performed by subordinates, applying expert knowledge of the methods, techniques, processes, procedures, tools, materials, and practices of the marine machinery mechanic trade. You will evaluate the skills of the team members and seek guidance and advice from the trade (non-marine machinery mechanic) expert or trade supervisor contact for the assigned project when necessary. You will be responsible for carrying out EEO policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates and coordinate efforts with EEO official during the development and execution of policies civilian personnel. Experience monitoring the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements. Experience providing technical direction to subordinate workers the marine machinery mechanic trade. Experience providing general knowledge of work techniques, methods, processes and equipment used by journeymen in any other shipyard trade.
