Summary
You will serve as an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic in the Crane Maintenance Division (Code 730) of the Lifting and Handling Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Duties
Help
You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, test and install industrial electronic controlled equipment.
You will work on microprocessors, computers and associated peripheral equipment.
You will align and calibrate equipment using calibration standards and alignment procedures.
You will test, repair, and replace components and parts such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, regulated power supplies, etc.
You will use various @types of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic testers, digital counters, electronic voltmeters, frequency/signal generators, transistor/diode testers, vacuum tube tester, capacitor tester, etc.

Must have color vision to distinguish basic colors to trace color coded circuitry or determine component values through color codes, circuits, and wiring.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You may be required to obtain and maintain a current crane operator license.
You may be required to obtain and maintain current licenses to operate equipment to maintain Cranes, i.e. forklifts and/or aerial work platforms.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
