Part Time Contract Title or Role: AS400 Developer Compensation: up to $65/hourly commensurate with experience Location: 100% Remote Length of Contract: 6 months + Position Description: The AS400 Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and databases in the client's AS400 Environment. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to best practices in software development. Responsibilities:

Develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform using RPG, CL, and SQL.

Work on application modernization projects, including API integration (REST/SOAP).

Design and optimize DB2 for i (AS400) databases, including indexing, query optimization, and stored procedures.

Develop and integrate web services (REST APIs, JSON, XML) for interoperability with modern applications.

Utilize IBM i Web Services to extend AS400 functionalities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend and backend developers.

Qualifications:

5+ years of AS400/iSeries experience in RPG, CLP, and SQL.

Hands-on experience with APIs (REST), JSON, XML, and web service integration.

Experience with cloud integration (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Understanding of security best practices for IBM i applications.

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) preferred.
