Description
Business Development Representative
Penn United Technologies is looking for a Business Development Representative for made-to-order Machined Parts work to be placed within our various Pennsylvania machining sites, including Saxonburg, Cabot, and St. Mary's, with the fully on-site office located in Saxonburg, PA. The Business Development Representative is responsible for nurturing leads with potential customers, collaborating with other departments to formulate estimates and resolve issues, analyzing and understanding customer specifications, evaluating material and labor costs, determining tooling requirements, estimating manufacturing lead times and providing timely quotation of price and delivery for machined parts to clients.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a proven history of work related to quoting setup and run-times for machined parts on multi-axis CNC machine tools and exhibit strong customer service, analytical, mathematical, decision-making, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
Review and respond to warm sales leads generated by marketing campaign
Determine prospect's needs and if they meet the company's qualifying criteria
Explore prospect's business issues and how the company can offer solutions
Build positive relationships with customers and prospects through timely and thorough responses to customer inquiries
Evaluate customer requests, research job histories, obtain current material vendor pricing, and determine lead time to provide accurate and concise quotations
Work with Sales team to meet and hand off prospective customers in the pipeline
Track all outreach activities in company's CRM
Enter and maintain quotation data in Visual and/or quote worksheets
Discuss quotes, warranty, payment terms, inspection requirements, and service needs with customers
Verify customer orders and compare orders to quotations (Contract Review)
Meet with appropriate sales personnel to understand customer needs and obtain feedback on quotes
Confer with manufacturing personnel, team leaders, managers, and engineers to keep abreast of current company capabilities, capacities, and strategies
Stay current on industry developments, changes, and competitor capabilities
May assist in the design of quoting systems and procedures
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education / Experience
Required: Minimum of 5 years of setup and operation of multi-axis machine tools in the metals machining industry
Required: Minimum of 2 years experience quoting setup and run-times for machined parts on multi-axis machine tools, based on mechanical drawings and material specifications
Required: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
Desired: Experience with a variety of metals including at least 300 series stainless and nickel alloys such as Inconel
Desired: Minimum 1 year of CNC programming experience for multi-axis tools with the ability to demonstrate
Knowledge and skills
Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
Ability to read and understand 2D drawings and 3D models
Ability to read and understand material specifications for metal bars, castings, forgings, plastics and PTFEs
Ability to read and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and surface finishes from mechanical drawings
Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and project management skills
Sound business judgement, cost-conscious, and detail oriented
Ability to handle complex issues and problems, referring only complex to higher-level staff
Strong sense of integrity, honesty, credibility, and teamwork
Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate or Advanced preferred) and ability to quickly learn and use required computer software
Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks
Strong verbal and written communication and persuasion skills
