Supervises the daily activities of all warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory management functions to include, including labor scheduling, storing, shipping, space management/cycle counting, and housekeeping. Supervise warehouse personnel to attain a high degree of efficiency and provide key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping, and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations within the warehouse team.
Consistently and equitably, enforce plant rules, holding crewmembers accountable for all facets of their jobs.
The Supervisor is held accountable to ensure warehouse activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, compliance with legal and company policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with SGC CertainTeed LLC Principles of Conduct and Action.
Essential Functions
Directly supervises the hourly warehouse employees' activities pertaining to material management, equipment problems, truck loading, truck traffic, housekeeping, cycle counting, and inventory management. Will lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and health policies, procedures, and practices.
Communicates & documents employee expectations and assesses employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
Oversees the training of warehouse employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating forklifts and any other motorized equipment, ensuring they follow the standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Understands and performs cycle count activities and how they can affect inventory and all warehouse functions, and all inventory locations are maintained with the correct inventory to ensure shipping documents are accurate - first in, first out should be the priority.
Ensuring solid communication between truck drivers and warehouse employees at all times.
Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to warehouse activities.
Maintains workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas. Assures warehouse lighting infrastructure is operational and functioning for efficiency and safety.
Reviews and approves employee time in the UKG timekeeping system and ensures employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with the respective sites' pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Shift Schedule: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd - must be flexible
Shift Requirements: Rotating schedule
2- year degree is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
3-5 years of Supervisory experience in warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred.
General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001).
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office (familiarity with UKG and SAP systems)
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution.
Leadership:
Projects include leadership of lean/six sigma activities and routine maintenance of quality systems and troubleshooting problems, which impede the effective operation of quality functions. He/she will initiate steps to explore, in some detail, the precise nature of the problem and identify possible corrective actions.
Communication:
Ability to manage, motivate, communicate, maintain a full crew, and develop an effective team. The position is highly visible to all employees, and the incumbent must affect leadership through integrity, knowledge, and personal example.
High level of professionalism when interacting with outside resources (i.e, dispatchers, truck drivers, Sales TM's, Corporate logistic resources).
Problem Solving:
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Travel: The incumbent will be required to travel occasionally for training and development.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $70,000 to $108,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 7 % of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $74,900 to $115,560. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
