Fabricator I

In this job you will set-up and operate one-two pieces of fabrication equipment of basic to moderate complexity using drawing, blueprints, or other specifications to form metal parts from various metal stock.

As a Fabricator I you will:

Select dies, tools, punches for proper thickness of material

Form material according to drawings using various radius dies

Install and align progressive compound, forming, blanking, piercing,

coining, embossing, notching and combination punches and dies

Perform preventative maintenance procedures

Perform first piece and in progress inspection to ensure that work

meets all requirements

Adjust stroke, feed equipment, knock out devices, work holders and

safety devices

Install and align punches and dies in proper tool station to perform

required operations

Monitor condition of equipment and tooling and inform supervisor or

team lead when punches and dies need sharpening.

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with

procedures, rules, and regulations

Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to

accomplish job results

Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of

fabrication tasks as needed

Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation

Document actions by completing production and quality forms

We are looking for someone who:

Is able to read and interpret basic to moderately complex drawings

and bills of material.

Can safely operate fabrication machinery such as press brake, punch

press, etc.

Has experience using small hand and power tools

Possesses basic computer skills

Holds a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience

and skill development

Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written

instructions in English

Ideally has up to one year of experience working as a metal

fabricator in a manufacturing environment

The physical demands of the job are:

Work is classified as Medium Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by

the US Dept of Labors Dictionary of Occupational Titles

Frequencies Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous

(67-100%)

Lifting Demands:

Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with

assistance

Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waist

Carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feet

Push/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis

Push/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with

assistance

Postural Demands:

Standing continuous

Walking continuous

Bending/stooping frequent

Squatting/kneeling frequent

Lifting frequent

Miscellaneous Demands:

Griping, manipulation, fingering continuous

Variable hand/power tool use frequent

Two-person tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling

and pushing including engine stands hand trucks, pallet jacks, and hoists

Pay Range is typically between \$20 \$24 per hour plus shift differential
