Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Financial Service client in Fort Worth, Texas, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining accuracy and compliance in financial operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of accounting processes and financial reporting while collaborating across teams to drive efficiency. The ideal candidate will come from the Financial Services industry. This position will interview and start immediately!

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and address any discrepancies promptly.

Manage accounting for loans and leases, maintaining compliance with relevant standards.

Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely financial reporting.

Maintain and update the general ledger and associated schedules for accuracy.

Ensure adherence to internal controls and proper coding of expenses.

Work closely with accounting and operational teams to uphold financial reporting accuracy.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements.

Provide clear and effective communication of issues and updates to management.

Requirements - Proficiency in handling sales tax and corporate tax return processes.

Strong experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.

Expertise in month-end close and financial statement preparation.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.

Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and reporting to management.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
