Manufacturing Technology Manager (Remote)
The Manufacturing Technology Manager position will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Manufacturing Technology Specialists, Integration of new Technology, Continuous Improvement and Cost reduction efforts, Support of skills-based operation throughout Niagara plants, enhancing current system infrastructure, management of learning and working closely with QA to coordinate audits and other skills assessments. The primary mode for implementing these efforts is through training programs; On The Job training, overseeing front-line curriculum development and authorizing subsequent leaders to re-deliver the instructor led training components.
Essential Functions
Training Delivery
Deliver training to participants
Oversee the training development of the Manufacturing Technology Supervisor / Specialist / Trainee
Work with OEM on new technologies and training requirements
Instructional Design
Oversee the instructional design development of the Manufacturing Technology Supervisor / Specialist / Trainee
Develop training material associated with inventory systems and operations
Execute higher inventory accuracies within our production facilities, distribution centers, and third-party logistical centers
Ensure that competencies required by existing and new processes and equipment are identified and incorporated into corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with training stakeholders for any requirements
Collaborate with other Technical Services groups to write, or work with vendors to develop, written and demonstration-based Skills Assessments to determine baseline knowledge of all Niagara Mfg Technical personnel
Implement soft skill training for team members
Review line efficiencies for areas of opportunity
Teach equipment-specific root-cause troubleshooting methods
Identify high-level risk areas within each line by site and develop written training plans to address issues
Collaborate with Technology Specialists in plant, interplant, and within all Technical Services groups to deploy necessary resources to address the problems
Performs audits of each Niagara site at least once a year to ensure all learning systems and Certifications are being maintained and have the specified positive effect
Attend Skills Assessments, Gap Audits, and business reviews with supplier(s) at all sites as pertinent to area of expertise to ensure learning management is supporting all technical initiatives
Work with plant management team and supplier(s) to address and resolve all non-conformance issues
Support Plant Continuous Improvement Process Managers with training materials
Assist leadership in demonstrating their commitment to continuous improvement and removing barriers that slow successful improvement initiatives
Utilize data-driven, structured problem-solving tools, including Six Sigma to improve process capability, reduce variation and optimize performance. Impart these tools to the work teams as appropriate within a Technical Training environment
Support all Manufacturing stakeholders in developing and implementing robust progression planning and performance management tools
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
6 Years - Experience in business analysis or adult learning theory or similar manufacturing environment
6 Years - Experience in Position
4 Years - Experience managing people/projects
