Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming) Software Quality Assurance

Duties Description:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Review business and technical requirements to identify test conditions.Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable test scripts.Ensure automation integrates with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.Execute automated test suites across different environments.Perform functional, regression, smoke, performance testing.Execute manual tests when automation is not feasible or for exploratory testing.Identify, document, and track defects in qTest.Provide clear reproduction steps, logs, and screenshots.Collaborate with developers and business users to resolve defects.Validate data integrity and perform backend testing using SQL or APIs.Ensure compliance with NYSIF standards, accessibility guidelines, and security requirements.Minimum Qualifications:Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OROne year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming); OROne year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; ORBachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science: ORBachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; OR60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology; ORTwo years of experience in information technology.Note: Certain math and business courses, although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours.Please be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees.
