Accountant - Entry Level

Description We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join our team in New York, NY, on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain experience in a detail-oriented legal environment while contributing to essential accounting tasks. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in accounting and financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Perform accurate data entry to maintain financial records and transactions.

Handle bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Assist with billing processes, including creating invoices and tracking payment statuses.

Manage accounts payable by processing invoices and preparing payments.

Support wire transfers and cash reconciliation activities.

Collaborate with the team on ad hoc accounting tasks as they arise.

Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collection and proper recordkeeping.

Prepare account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies. Requirements - Proficiency in handling accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Familiarity with bank reconciliation and account reconciliation procedures.

Ability to accurately perform accounting entries and maintain financial records.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Effective communication skills for team collaboration.

Experience in a law firm environment is a plus, but not required.
