CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an Edge Operations Deputy Manager within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. The Edge Operations Deputy Manager job description involves overseeing the operational efficiency, reliability, and security of distributed edge computing infrastructure and platforms. Key responsibilities include managing incidents, ensuring compliance, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, monitoring performance, and leading process improvement initiatives to maintain a stable and secure edge environment. The role requires a strong technical background in cloud and infrastructure, leadership skills, and experience with site reliability engineering (SRE) principles and tools.

This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
o Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of edge platforms, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
o Incident Management: Supervise incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution for edge-related outages and performance degradations.
o Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
o Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies, manage access controls, and ensure operations align with security guidelines and regulatory standards.
o Infrastructure Management: Monitor platform capacity and performance, collaborate on infrastructure design, and contribute to forecasting future needs.
o Process Improvement: Lead automation initiatives to reduce operational toil, improve efficiency, and develop continuous improvement plans.
o Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Platform Engineering, Application, Market, and other global tech operations teams to align edge operations with business objectives.
o Team Leadership: Develop and motivate teams, provide technical leadership, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Edge Operations Deputy Manager:
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years of experience
Security Clearance: TS/SCI required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly highly desired
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Experience with SRE principles such as Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets.
Monitoring & Observability: Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or Nagios.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams, drive operational excellence, and delegate tasks effectively.
Communication: Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing complex application problems and leading incident resolution.
Experience: Several years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or infrastructure roles, with significant leadership experience.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $200000.00.
