A Brief Overview
Manages the activities related to Physician and Faculty contracts, compliance, on-boarding, credentialing, and orientation. Serves as Physician/Faculty representative with leadership and well as internal and external strategic partners. Subject matter expert regarding policies, practices related to physician on-boarding and credentialing.
Essential Functions
Creates and manages contracts for all newly hired physicians and faculty
Creates employment agreement contract with all associated schedules. Works closely with the Director of Physician and Faculty Affairs, Legal Counsel, Practice Management, and Finance to insure all contracts are specific per discipline and per new physician.
Serves as the liaison with the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine, specific Department Chairmen's office to ensure that UNMC contracts align with NPP/CSP contracts.
Ensures signatures on all contracts, distributes and tracks contacts. Notifies appropriate individuals once contracts are executed and returned.
Manages leased contracts of all physicians, assuring compliance with NPP/CSP practices. Provides tracking of leasing agreements.
Responsible for data maintenance of all contract versions, entry into Contract Logix.
Responsible for notification of new providers with AR Credentialing. Determines AR Credentialing criteria, manages changes in any locations or status. Responsible to notify all appropriate parties.
Responsible for all HR Paperwork, new employee compliance.
Completes insurance applications for annual renewals with external insurance provider for NPP/CSP insurance contracts. Prepares for annual meeting, serves as liaison for Director and CHMC legal counsel with insurance representatives.
Manages and coordinates the on-boarding and orientation for all physicians and faculty.
Works directly with all new faculty with regard to Nebraska Medical licensing, DEA, hiring paperwork, Medical Staff applications, credentialing, etc. Responsible for all tracking so that new physicians are in compliance and completing required applications in a timely manner.
Serves as liaison with Division Chiefs regarding on-boarding status of new faculty.
Prioritizes and assures that Medical Malpractice Liability is effective and terminated according to physician employment and/or contract changes. Manages Malpractice Tail Coverage for all physicians terminated or upon contract changes.
Serves as the representative working with external insurance provider regarding malpractice status of all physicians. Implements changes about physician termination or change in contracts from employee status to leased employee status. Ensures NELF letter filings.
Creates, completes, and manages AR Credentialing forms for all physician. This includes initial processing and all changes for all physicians.
Schedules new hires appointments with HR, (CHMC and UNMC), benefit presentations to ensure I-9 compliance, Employee Health compliance, CHMC badging, etc.
Responsible for continual communication with all new hires throughout transition process.
Creates Orientation schedule which includes essential presenters for physician on-boarding.
Creates information resource binders for all new physicians, orders and delivers lab coats.
Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes progress of provider on-boarding and credentialing status.
Maintains and distributes physician listing of all CSP. Institution wide distribution.
Physician and Faculty Liaison
Main liaison with internal and external contacts to ensure a smooth and accurate transition and on-boarding process.
Serves as representative with Divisions, CHMC leadership, UNMC leadership, external partners; attorneys, administrators, etc. to address all physician related matters to ensure all documents, meetings, compliance are completed in a timely manner.
Develops and maintains relationships with new and current providers in order to foster a positive on-boarding and re-certification process.
Monitor progress of tasks ensuring all deadlines are met as scheduled.
Thoroughly document requirements according to departmental standards and methodologies.
Collects data, prepares reports and makes recommendations.
Possess skill set necessary to work with management and physicians in building team collaboration and successful on-boarding/credentialing of providers.
Provides management with status reports detailing status and timelines.
Follow all steps to close project which may include conducting meetings, completing reports/documentation, and maintaining completed files.
Serves as Physician and Faculty representative at internal and external meetings as related to new physicians and physician changes in credentialing or related to termination.
Serves as subject matter expert related to physician/faculty on-boarding matters.
Provides support to Children's Physician's and Specialty Physician's executives concerning other special projects and strategic initiatives.
Coordinates to ensure that the projects are in line with project timeline and budget.
Financial Responsibilities
Maintains several data bases relative to physician and faculty expenditures
Maintains Professional Business Expenses for all physicians. Reviews and approves PBE report, reconciles expenses for all physicians in CSP. Ensures that all physicians keep expenditures within their allowed budget. Monitors and ensures no over expenditures.
Maintains Divisional Business Expenses for all divisions.
Reviews and approves all physician travel requests (SAP from UNMC), enters onto PBE physician expenditure report.
Responsible for all expenses processed through the Physician Practice Management credit card. Credit Card reconciliation for physician and institutional expenses.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, health care administration, or related field Preferred
