Job Description
The Athletics Strategic Operations Specialist provides high-level support to the Athletic Director, Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Operating Officer, and Deputy Athletics Director - Student-Athlete Advancement, Revenue Growth & Competitive Strategy. This position plays a key role in advancing ODU Athletics' strategic priorities by coordinating projects, executing initiatives, and supporting operational excellence across the department. The role requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining strict compliance with NCAA , DHRM , and ODU policies.

Demonstrated ability to provide executive level administrative assistance to include taking minutes, drafting and preparing correspondence, reports and special projects and proposals.
Demonstrated ability to promote efficiency, maintain confidentiality and apply independent judgment.
Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures to provide excellent customer service.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings and schedules with the President's Cabinet, VPs, donors, business executives and staff.
Demonstrated ability to develop and prepare presentations, statistical reports, graphs and
presentations.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while producing quality work. Demonstrated ability to independently carry out projects and assignments.
Demonstrated ability to work regular Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM in office (non-negotiable), some evening and weekend work required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, safeguarding sensitive documents and/or information and exercise sound judgement

Considerable experience providing operational support. Some experience in project management, event planning, or strategic operations within collegiate athletics or a similar sector of work.
Some experience working in positions building relationships with diverse constituencies and external partners.

Some previous work experience in higher education. Some experience providing operational support to an executive. Some experience in fundraising and donor relations and college or professional athletics. Conditions of Employment
Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM in office (non-negotiable), with some evening and weekend work required.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary range between $ - 65,000-70,000
