Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst

Location:Newark, DE

Reports To:** Accounts Payable Manager

Work model: Hybrid -4days onsite, Friday`s work from home

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Analyst with 5-10 years of hands-on experience in managing AP functions within a fast-paced environment. The AP Analyst will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, reconciliations, and reporting, while supporting process improvements and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Process a high volume of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests with accuracy and timeliness.

Perform three-way match of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.

Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with procurement and other departments.

Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and AP reconciliations.

Prepare and analyze AP reports, aging summaries, and payment forecasts.

Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong relationships with external partners.

Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements to increase efficiency.

Assist with special projects, audits, and other finance-related activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.

5-10years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting functions.

Strong understanding of AP processes, GAAP, and internal controls.

Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Bill.com, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

Advanced Excel skills, with ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with process automation or AP software (e.g., Coupa, Concur, Tipalti).

Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments.

Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit procedures.
