Description

We are looking for an experienced Finance and Grants Manager to oversee financial planning, grants management, and compliance processes within a non-profit organization. This role requires expertise in managing complex budgets, financial reporting, and grant administration to ensure operational excellence. As this is a long-term contract position, we seek a leader who is committed to driving strategic financial initiatives and ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

Lead the organization's financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluations.

Develop and present monthly financial performance reports across various organizational levels, such as programs, divisions, and regions.

Provide strategic financial insights and prepare detailed visuals for executive and board-level presentations.

Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate management and tracking of foundation, federal, and state grant funds.

Review and interpret federal and state regulations to establish operational policies and compliance standards.

Monitor expenses to ensure all costs align with grant terms and deadlines, avoiding unallowable expenses.

Coordinate with program managers to track grant funds, communicate budget balances, and prepare internal and external fiscal reports.

Lead the development of grant proposal budgets and negotiate indirect cost rate agreements.

Act as the primary liaison with auditors regarding compliance with federal grant awards and manage government portal accounts.

Requirements

At least 10 years of experience in financial management, including federal grants and audits under Uniform Guidance.

Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA is preferred but not required.

In-depth knowledge of federal grant regulations, including OMB Circular A-122 and A-133 audits.

Proven expertise in annual budgeting, month-end close processes, and financial reporting.

Hands-on experience with forecasting, cash flow management, and grant administration.

Strong ability to develop and manage grant proposal budgets and ensure compliance with funding requirements.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial insights effectively.
