Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

The mechanical engineering group seeks a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our talented team. You will lead, design, and provide advanced solutions for integration into our autonomous systems, which include military and commercially available oceanography products. Your role involves completing product life cycle analyses and developing technical data packages for new and existing designs. You will work within a cross-functional design team to bring designs through first article, testing, integration, and delivery to manufacturing, applying mechanical engineering principles and techniques to research, develop, design, and test verified design solutions.

Responsibilities

Support new development and manufacturing efforts in mechanical design and implementations.

Demonstrate proficiency in material selection for underwater applications with corrosion considerations, structural analysis, electronic packing, CAD, and solid modeling.

Communicate designs and issues to each corresponding department.

Research, develop, and plan designs of mechanical and electromechanical products for underwater applications.

Oversee and coordinate activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

Support Sales and Marketing Departments with engineering special quotes.

Provide documentation for manufacturing support and design.

Estimate labor and cost of materials for designs and applications.

Build proto@types and test fixtures for new designs or update existing designs and products.

Perform project management duties as assigned.

Communicate and support efforts across departments with mechanical designs and implementations.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in CAD and solid modeling, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) or Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).

Knowledge of Enterprise PDM (EPDM) in support of 3D modeling tools.

Manufacturing/Design experience with marine products.

Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3 years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field.

Familiarization with mechanical engineering standards.

Work Environment

The role is onsite at the client location in Pocasset, MA. You will work in a collaborative environment, engaging with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality mechanical engineering solutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.50 - $60.00/hr.
