Job Title: Saturday Recreation Staff

Reports To: Recreation Coordinator / Program Supervisor

Employment Type: Part-time (Saturdays only)

Location: [564 Main St Fitchburg Mass 014220]

Hours: Saturdays, typically 10AM - 4PM (may vary based on activity)

Job Summary:

The Saturday Recreation Staff is responsible for providing supervision, support, and engagement for individuals participating in the Saturday Recreation Program. This role involves planning, facilitating, and participating in recreational outings and activities that promote socialization, community integration, and personal development for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

Rate: $20.40-21.42

Essential Functions:

· Support Recreation Program Coordinator and participants during the Saturday outings into the community. These include outings to sporting events, museums, restaurants, arts and crafts venues, etc.

· Conducts oneself professionally by maintaining respect, following regulations and agency policies and adhering to confidentiality requirements in all assigned duties

· Attends mandatory trainings and meetings as assigned and required.

· Demonstrates knowledge of and commitment to agency mission and fundamental values

· Frequent driving of facility motor vehicles and vans

· Additional duties as assigned

· Physical demands include: Frequent standing, pushing, pulling, walking, stooping, lifting and twisting

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED is required, experience in relevant field preferred

· A valid driver's license and acceptable CORI/Finger printing and driving record are required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; kneel, bend and carry items; and sustain periods of walking, standing, and sitting

· Ability to physically assist individuals according to their needs

· Ability to sustain periods of walking, standing, and sitting.

Mental Requirements:

· Demonstrated superior communication skills, both in verbal and written English

· Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy, problem solve, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage crisis
