Mission: The Performance Monitoring & Analytics Center (PMAC) exists to support the Smart Operations Center strategic vision using knowledge, data, and analytics to support our customers and drive improvements in our asset portfolio's utilization.
We Support this Mission by:
Providing a high level of customer support to our internal and external customers
Collaborating with other work streams on asset optimization opportunities
Leveraging data and technology to:
Pre-emptively identify potential equipment issues
Optimize production and utilization of our asset portfolio
Identify opportunities to unlock potential value
Coordinating with Power Generation personnel in support of key activities
Identifying and developing measures and tools in support of optimization efforts
Monitoring roughly 53 power generating units consisting of Combined Cycle Combustion Turbine (CCCT), Boiler - Steam Turbine (Legacy - Drum and Supercritical), Combustion Turbines (CT), and Coal - Drum and Supercritical Units
PMAC Roles & Key Responsibilities for Intern/Co-op Student
Role Summary:
Engage and learn about the electric power industry and supportPMAC personnel
Participant in learning opportunities to better understand power generation
Learn about the various PMAC support functions
Seek out opportunities to engage and support key PMAC activities
Intern would perform analysis with guidance from PMAC personnel, develop performance and reliability assessment of assets used in power generation
Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in generation-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and operations
Develop and program tools to help automation or predicting outcomes from environmental or equipment changes
Travel may be required for the position

One way that Entergy has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain jobs is through pre-employment testing.
