The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, passionate, and creative ATL Fab Operations Manager I (4th Shift) for the Advanced Technology Labs (ATL) in Linthicum, MD - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

The ATL Fab Operations Manager I will be leading a team of Solid State Technicians, and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing the work on weekend shift in one of our semiconductor fabrication areas. The Fab Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of represented employees working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The manager is expected to spend at least half of their time in the cleanroom lab area supporting foundry operations from the shop floor. The individual will regularly align fab operations activities with other groups including Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, Process Engineering, Semiconductor Technologies, Equipment Engineering, Systems and Applications, and Program Management.
Other responsibilities include:
Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies
Meeting fab throughput and productivity metrics, product delivery schedules, fab yields, and overall fab quality
Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts, 5S activities, lean manufacturing principles
Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential
Provide ATL leadership with progress reports and presentations
Work independently across the organization to meet fab needs and goals
Maintain a safe work environment
Work 4th shift (Friday-Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm) and in the future may also work other shifts as required by the business
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience; Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 1 years of experience (Note: an additional 4+ years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Understanding of basic manufacturing and production concepts
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment
Must be willing to work 4th shift (Friday-Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm) and/or other shifts as required by the business
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry
Technical knowledge and understanding of semiconductor processes and toolsets
Supervision or people management experience
Experience in the microelectronics industry
Working knowledge of industry and management methodologies focused on continuous improvement in manufacturing, such as SPC, 5S, Total Quality Management or Six Sigma
Experienced in ISO 9001 or AS9100 audits and requirements, knowledgeable of Industrial Hazardous Waste Management procedures
Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment
Active DoD Secret clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
