This position will serve as the 4-H Program Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Chemung County and will provide program coordination and support to the 4-H Program. This position will organize and coordinate events and activities related to traditional 4-H, STEM, leadership, school enrichment, after school programming, parent engagement, community service, and youth empowerment. This position will work with the 4-H Resource Educator to form and maintain a functioning 4-H Youth Development Advisory Committee and will work with the Advisory Committee and Youth Development Team to prioritize 4-H Youth Development Program issues and activities. This position will assist with volunteer recruitment and involvement and give guidance to 4-H Youth Development volunteers and families, to include: volunteer orientation, new member support and on-going support and follow-up to ensure initial and continued 4-H Club success.

POSITION DETAILS:
This position is a part-time, hourly position, 80% FTE, 30 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $21.00. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave. Associate's Degree or Equivalent Education (High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year transferrable program/functional experience).
Experience relevant to the role of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Program Responsibilities:
Delivery, Evaluation and Applied Research - 15%
Teach existing 4-H Youth Development educational programs as needed.
Foster acceptance of the 4-H Youth Development Programming, methods and policies to address community and youth needs and consider diverse audiences.
Assist in provide 4-H Educational program efforts via mass media.
Utilizing established materials, serve as subject matter resource in 4-H Youth Development for staff and participants, providing standard responses.
Utilize established program resources and materials in providing information and resources to program participants in established 4-H programming.
Teach existing educational programs and activities as defined in the 4-H Youth Development Area's Plan of Work.
Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and 4-H Youth Development Program staff to achieve Association program delivery goals.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Direction and Management - 5%
Provide input to the Youth Development Resource Educator to assist in planning the delivery of established 4-H Youth Development educational program goals.
Assist in developing and enhancing networks of volunteers to extend program implementation efforts to achieve local community ownership.
Assist with the development of fundraising efforts to maintain/expand programming initiatives.
Assist in solving problems and resolving conflicts that arise in the 4-H Youth Development Program utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.
Monitor volunteer fundraising activities in support of youth programming.
Assist in providing leadership development opportunities to volunteers.
Assist with volunteer recruitment and involvement.
Give guidance to volunteers.
Coordination/Operation - 75%
Coordinate, compile and organize existing program resources and program materials.
Assist with the implementation of established 4-H Youth Development Program schedule.
Coordinate 4-H events in accordance with the 4-H Work Plan and schedule.
Coordinate the 4-H Youth Development Program implementation efforts, planning and activities, including 4-H fundraisers and trips.
Assist in the coordination of effective marketing strategies in the promotion of programming efforts to include, but not limited to: print media, news media, social media, and multi-media efforts.
Perform record keeping, data management and program reports as required by the Association and contract requirements.
Assist in maintaining the 4-H Youth Development Advisory Committee and provide coordination and administrative support for meetings as needed.
Coordinate club/committee meetings to ensure both animal and non-animal clubs and committees are meeting on a regular basis.
Coordinate parent and youth engagement activities in the 21st Century CONNECT program.
Provide support to 21st Century CONNECT Coordinators in meeting grant outcomes.
Provide training and support to volunteers to foster club success.
Draft standard and non-standard communications, requiring only occasional guidance from Supervisor.
Provide administrative support to assist in implementing a shared Association vision, building understanding around the mission and the advancement of the mission.
Collect evaluation data from program participants based on existing evaluation framework and guidelines.
Effectively maintain professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication and facilitate continued programming efforts.
This position may require the transport of program participants, and/or program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.
